Apprenticeships at Cambridge University
Modece is proud to support our team members' professional development by sponsoring their education in the Cambridge University apprenticeship program. This unique opportunity enables individuals to combine practical work experience with rigorous academic study, ultimately leading to a fully qualified architectural qualification.
Andy is one such apprentice, having recently finished his third year of the program at Cambridge and beginning his Part 3 studies to become a fully qualified architect.
Helen Su has joined the practice permanently as part of our apprenticeship program, having initially been introduced through the Kickstart Scheme. She commenced her Master's level apprenticeship at Cambridge University in 2022 and was subsequently recognized with a Rising Star Award for her exceptional innovation and contributions to the workplace. As a testament to her talent and dedication, Helen is now in her second year of the Cambridge Apprenticeship program.
Kickstart Scheme
One of the professional programmes we have participated in is the Kickstart Scheme, aimed at young people looking for work in different industries.
In response to the surge of job applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, we partnered with a consortium of museums and arts organizations to offer placements in architectural assistance and graphic design.
Over an 18-month period, we welcomed 14 Kickstart participants into our team, providing them with hands-on experience in various aspects of our projects. Our core team mentored and guided these young professionals, ensuring they gained valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of an architectural firm.
One of the main projects which the Kickstart Scheme worked on was the Stowmarket Library Garden. Click to read more about the project.
